Fly Fish Alberta employs and partners with respected, educated, professional guides and hosts. It is our goal to take a personal approach to the water daily. Each of our guides cares a lot about what happens on the water, with your vacation time our priority. We introduce our guides and hosts:
Dave Jensen
Worked for the Forest Service in the area for 5 years before beginning our guide company. We've now owned and operated it for 14 years. I've fly fished since I was 5, starting on the tailing pond of my uncle's concrete plant and the trout stream flowing through the property before venturing further by mountain bike to other local waters in the Revelstoke, BC area (though I grew up in Edmonton). We began focusing on the waters near Rocky Mountain House, which is why I worked for the Forest Service there. I solely lobbied to have the S Ram R designated C&R in 1998, garnering 75 letters, 1500 signatures, and several magazine articles to accomplish the goal. I jointly began the Alberta Streamwatch Conservation Coalition in 2001 with Alberta Fishing Guide Magazine publisher Barry Mitchell in hopes of increasing angler awareness of our fisheries, to increase knowledge of how fragile they are, as well as working with the Alberta Gov to give our hired officers powers of authority to write enforcement violation tickets. The program has expanded and is an accepted program between industry, government, and the public through the trout regions of Alberta. I write 10 to 15 articles for various magazines each year, as my interest and time availability allow. I've been published in FF, NW/SW FF, American Angler, Outdoor Canada, Canadian Fly Fisher, Fly Fusion, and the Alberta Fishing Guide. My wife & I travel to New Zealand each year now, enjoying not so much just the relatively obvious fishing but the country's people and scenery. We closed our Fly Fish Alberta Forum after hosting it for 10 years, peaking at 11 or 12 million hits per month. We closed it due to time constraints from adding our Fortress Lake Retreat fly in lodge to our company. Dave sits on the Red Deer Regional Fisheries Round Table Advisory Board. This full explanation is for the purpose of demonstrating the company ethic comes from a great deal of involvement and awareness in the Alberta fly fishing scene.
Kevin Smith ~ Is co-owner of Fly Fish Alberta & Fortress Lake Retreat with Dave & Amelia Jensen. Kevin works as a financial specialist in oil and gas investments and guides/hosts trips through the summer months.

Steve is an ardent fly fisher, with over a decade of knowledge in the Golden, BC area, as well as Banff National Park and the Calgary - Red Deer corridor.
